First Responders

News: Defibrillator

The much awaited  defibrillator has now been delivered and fitted at the Institute entrance porch by Endmoor & District First Responders (grateful thanks are due for their efforts in securing this for the Institute). A training evening can be arranged to back up the one held in Endmoor earlier in the year, if it is felt necessary.

More Responders Needed

You may be interested to know that Endmoor & District First Responders (CFRs) attended 93 medical incidents in 2012, 24 of which were in Old and New Hutton.

A reminder that we cannot be called out personally, but patients and carers must use the 999 system and, if appropriate, we will be paged and respond accordingly.

There are now two active, equipped and fully trained CFRs in Old and New Hutton, and one is in training. Each Responder has access to a complete set of equipment, which includes oxygen, an automated external defibrillator, pager, and “hi viz” jacket. Full support is provided by NWAS and the rest of the Endmoor team, and regular training updates are organised.

We are always looking for new CFRs in the area - log on to www.endmoor.org.uk or call Martin Smith on 015395 67453.
