Minutes of New Hutton Parish Council Meeting held on 9th February 2009
Present: Pat Bell (Chair), Tony Ellis , Tony Porter, Henry Robinson , Tiz Umpleby
1. Apologies: None
2. Minutes of last meeting: It was resolved the minutes be signed by the Chairman as a true record.
3. Chairman’s Announcements: none.
4. Declaration of interests: None
5. Adjournment of meeting: no members of the public were present.
6. Planning Applications: Approvals were noted. Council noted the appeal submitted for conversion of outbuilding at Birks Farmhouse.
7. Payment of Accounts: none. Costings for parish notice boards were considered to be too expensive, ranging from £698 to £794 (dependent on size). It was resolved to ask local joiners for estimates to make boards. Cllr. Porter reminded council that the cost will be for something that lasts for many years.
8. Correspondence: The listed correspondence was noted with the following resolutions
a) Cllrs Bell and Porter agreed to be contacts for Highway Steward
b) Support could not be given to the Skipton – East Lancashire Rail Action Partnership, as of little relevance to the Parish
c) Cllrs Bell and Umpleby to attend CALC conference
d) To date SLDC has not written to New Hutton Parish Council following the actions of Scalthwaiterigg Parish Council
e) Council resolved to find out who is, and how to contact, the neighbourhood policing team for New Hutton.
9. Parish Directory: Council approved draft for publication pending photographs of councillors and Millennium Garden (for cover). Cllr Bell will ask Stramongate Press for contact and probable costs. It was resolved that councillors will distribute in parts of the parish with which they are not familiar or in which they are not recognised or well known.
