New Hutton Parish Field
The New Hutton Parish Field was awarded to the people of the parish by the 1847 Enclosure Award Act as a field for recreation. Within living memory, it has never been used for this purpose. It has been proposed that trees and shrubs are planted on it so that it can be used for pleasant walks and to observe nature and the spectacular views. The cases for and against the proposal and other details about it are set out below. The Parish Council wants all residents to take part in a vote so that it can make a final decision. A short, anonymous questionnaire will be delivered to all houses in the week beginning 24th August and should be returned by Saturday 5th September.
